Fantasy Sailor collects only what we need to run the game: account sign-in details, saved team entries, leaderboard information, email preferences, and basic technical data that helps the site work. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use player data for unrelated advertising.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and authentication session when you sign in.
• Game information: your display name, team name, sailor picks, power pick, scores, and leaderboard position.
• Draft data: temporary draft selections may be stored in your browser so your team is not lost while signing in.
• Email preferences: unsubscribe status and related records for launch or results update emails.
• Technical data: basic logs, device/browser information, and error information needed for security, debugging, and reliability.

How we use it

• To let you sign in, save, restore, and edit your Fantasy Sailor team.
• To calculate scores and show leaderboards for Fantasy Sailor events.
• To send Fantasy Sailor emails only when relevant, such as launch notes, results updates, or account links.
• To prevent abuse, troubleshoot bugs, improve the product, and keep the site secure.

What is public

Leaderboards may show your display name, team name, score, ranking, and selected sailors. Your email address is not shown publicly by Fantasy Sailor.

Services we use

Fantasy Sailor may use trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, email delivery, analytics, logging, and site security. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to us.

Cookies and local storage

We use authentication cookies or similar session storage to keep you signed in. We also use browser local storage for temporary draft recovery, such as saving an unfinished team while you complete a magic-link sign-in.

Data retention

We keep account, entry, scoring, and email preference records for as long as needed to operate Fantasy Sailor, preserve event history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Browser-stored draft data stays on your device until you clear it, overwrite it, or the site removes it after sign-in recovery.

Your choices

• You can unsubscribe from Fantasy Sailor marketing or results emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails.
• You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information connected to your account, subject to reasonable operational and legal limits.
• You can clear local draft data from your browser storage at any time.

Children

Fantasy Sailor is intended for a general sailing audience and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will review it.
